Chosen Angels

According to the testimony of Scripture, both old and new Testaments, there are millions and millions of angels. Yahweh is the God of armies of angels. Entire armies of angels! (see Psalm 89:8, and many others)

In the sneak peek God grants the Apostle John, he sees ten thousand times ten thousand angels... and then even more (Rev 5).

It's hard for us to imagine a single angel, harder to fathom armies of angels, and mind-boggling to consider the sheer number in heaven right now.

But a small percentage were chosen.

Luke 2:13... “Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,” - ‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭13‬ ‭NIV

A great company, but surely not all.

A few were chosen angels.

Can you imagine? There are some from Michael's angel army. Some from Gabriel's angel army. Others from other armies. And still others that aren't even in an angel army.

What would it feel like for God the Father to tap you on the shoulder and say, "I have a special job for you. It's time. I'm sending my Son, and I need you to announce it to the world."

You probably know this, but the word angel simply means messenger.

So I've got some great news: He picked you. He picked me.

Every time we stand to sing "Gloria in excelsis Deo" we are declaring--along with the angels--Glory to God in the highest!

You, my friend, are a chosen angel.
